Adele’s new song, which was released on October 23, 2015, has topped the charts. Adele and her music is loved by people of all ages all over the world.

As an artist, her songs are relatable and stir up emotion in the listeners. The single, titled “Hello,” shares much in common with Adele’s older music – it contains simple chord progressions and a slow, lulling rhythm. This song however, is extremely catchy and shows off the singer’s range, allowing vocal expression to be added.

Adele used relatability to draw people into the song. “Hello” is mainly about losing a lover and dealing with the heartbreak involved. Almost anyone can relate to that, or at least be able to imagine what that would be like. While the song mentions losing someone you care about, as most pop songs currently do, it also puts a spin on the topic.

Adele suggests in the song that it was something she had done that caused her heartbreak. While artists often write about their lovers leaving them, they don’t often acknowledge their fault in the matter. It is refreshing to see an artist like Adele bring to light to how it takes two people to end a relationship. Adele has a wide fan base and near anyone can find this song beautiful. People can relate to losing someone you once believed you would have in your life forever.

If you have not heard this song, go ahead and listen to it. You might be surprised at your reaction to it. Think you’re too cool for a mushy, emotional, heartfelt Adele song? Well, you’re not. If you can’t learn to like at least one thing about this song, then either you’ve never truly loved, or you’re simply not human.
