Boys basketball: Knights blown out by TJ to remain winless

By Dylan O’Toole

Round Table Editor

Last night Middletown (0-16) fell to Thomas Johnson (8-8) 49-24 in a game where Middletown kept the game close early with defense. Thomas Johnson broke out to a 15 point lead midway through the second quarter after a Middletown turnover and an easy layup on the other end by Kendall Pitts, who had 15 points and five steals for the Patriots. TJ played stifling defense holding Middletown to only 11 points in the first half. The high scorer for the knights was Luke Headley who had 7. The knights are on pace to have the worst record in Middletown High School history, they need to lose three more games in order to make that a lock. In all likelihood the knights will lose three more because they have games against three top tier opponents in Oakdale, Urbana and Tuscarora. They will have a chance to win games at the end of the season as they will face Brunswick and Williamsport the last two games.
