The Middletown High School field hockey team is hoping to step up their game this year, to ensure an exciting and winning season.
As they run sprints and figure eights, the team feels like they are training for cross country, but with sticks in hand, there’s no doubt that the field hockey team is not to be tampered with this season.
“This year there’s more conditioning, more running and we’re all more focused,” says sophomore Mariah Ginebra, an underclassmen addition to the varsity team this year.
With new underclassmen additions and more intense practices, the team is on their way for a successful season.
“I think our biggest challenge this year will be defeating Urbana. They’ve always been our rival and it would be a good victory for our team,” says Captain Kelly Murphy.
Whether running the distance or simply practicing stick skills, the field hockey is sure not to disappoint this fall.
