Girls basketball looks to stay hot as they visit Tuscarora

By Ben Spector

Round Table Reporter

The Middletown High School Girls Basketball teams will be on the road tonight as they play the Tuscarora Titans with Varsity starting at 7 and JV starting at 5:30. Varsity is coming off two crucial wins against Governor Thomas Johnson by a score of 45-29 and against Frederick by a score of 58-48. These two games were crucial for the Knights (11-5, 6-5 in MVAL Piedmont) as TJ and Frederick were the top two teams in the county. The Knights are starting to pick up some momentum which should help them as they make a run at a state championship through what is a tough 2A West region. Tonight they take on a Tuscarora (9-8, 5-6 in MVAL Piedmont) team who also beat TJ by a score of 64-53 and a tough Urbana team 55-40. The main target for the Knights to stop is point guard Shania Johnson who leads the county in scoring this season who is averaging 20 points a game with 2.8 assists per game.
