On November 27, 2017, Donald Trump invited three Navajo Code Talkers to the white house to thank them for their service in World War II. During Trump’s speech he made several remarks that were unexpected by the people. He referred Senator Elizabeth Warren as Pocahontas and behind the podium was a portrait of President Andrew Jackson, who was known for the ordering of thousands of Native Americans to leave their home lands and move further west, creating the “Trail of Tears” where over 5,000 Native Americans were killed from starvation, cold, and disease. Nic Bradley asks students and staff on their reaction towards Trump’s remarks.
