Student walkout occurs at Middletown High School

A student-organized walkout at Middletown High School coincided with the nationwide school walkouts in response to the recent school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. MHS’s interpretation included 17 minutes of silence, speeches, performances and an artistic demonstration.

Lucy Kiefert is a senior at Middletown High School who will complete her fourth and fifth semester of journalism this year. When she is not writing for the Round Table website or helping out with the daily broadcast, she can be found practicing her bass or scouring record stores for new music. Though Lucy wants to stay local immediately following high school, she hopes to move to a city in the near future and maintain journalistic writing as a skill she continually hones, as she plans to do with her music.
