Urbana try’s to shorten the difference to only 3 with an RBI hit from Urbana’s senior Danny Smith.

In the bottom of the sixth Middletown extends their lead with a solo homerun from Senior Alex Cartner.

Kevin Gibson and the rest of the Knights hold on to the 5-1 lead in order clinch the piedmont division.

Not only will there be a celebration for the knights clinching their division there will also be a celebration for all the seniors as it was also senior night.

So all of the varsity team and their families were brought into the school cafeteria to think about the great times they have shared and to try and imagine the ones still yet to come.

After the team had filled themselves with pasta from Carrabbas and a team cake with their picture on it all the seniors got up and gave their farewell speeches.

Afterwards the team opened up their senor gifts and the seniors were over whelmed with excitement as they pulled out of the box their new custom wood bats with their names engraved into the barrel of the bat.

Over all senior night was a smash as they were victorious as they clinched their division and have moved one step closer to their overall goal of states.
