Middletown High School students were very critical toward Apple’s new iWatch coming out.

Due to the fact that it can be worn, Apple said it is one of its most personal products. Its goal has always been to make more powerful, accessible, relevant and personal products.

So as Apple makes its first mark on the ever-competitive smart watch market, the upcoming Apple Watch is the most anticipated technological accessory yet.

MHS junior Zoe Maliszewskyi wasn’t very optimistic toward the new Apple Watch.

“It’ll be a phase for a while, but people will get over it. People will realize it’s not what Apple is making it seem to be,” said Maliszewskyi.

MHS junior Nikki Dennison said didn’t know there was a new watch coming out from Apple, but she gave an opinion on it from what she knew at the time.

Dennison said it’s okay, but it’s “just another thing to look at.”

However, MHS juniors Mathew Considine and Mallory Gumas had a completely different outlook on the product.

Gumas said the watch sounds very “futuristic and convenient.”

“It seems very cool but not something I would wear,” said Considine.

The new product from Apple is ranging from $500 to $600. The accessory has many different styles and colors. The band can be stainless steal or space black.

According to Maliszewskyi, the watch has “such a small screen.” She added that she can’t imagine “doing a whole lot on it.”

MHS sophomore Alejandro Valdes said he could buy 600 small boxes of mac ‘n’ cheese for the price of one watch, so it’s a bad idea.
