Violet Orcutt is a junior at Middletown High School and is in her 2nd semester of journalism. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year college where she hopes to study geochemistry, a field that has sparked her interest in science and the natural world. Outside of school, Violet plays volleyball year-round, which has helped her develop teamwork, discipline and perseverance, while also staying active. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting as a creative hobby and reading a wide variety of books. Throughout this semester of journalism, Violet hopes to push herself outside of her comfort zone by testing the limits of what she can accomplish both physically through sports and academically by taking on challenging, rigorous classes.
