Review: Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

 *******Spoiler Alert******

The video game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you get to play the main character Link, through all his adventures throughout Hyrule. You get to go face-to-face with many enemies and fight them in order to find Zelda after she falls into the abyss. Some of the main enemies are: The Mucktorok Boss of the Zora Domain, Colgera of the Rito Village, The Queen Gibdo Boss of Gerudo Town, and lastly, Marbled Gohma of the Goron City.

Some things that were great about the video game were the graphics and the attention to detail in the making of the visuals itself. The game developers clearly put a lot of time into the creation of the game. The animations of how Links moves in combat are beautiful along with intricate design of the scenery of the game. I love how the game developers create a realistic and lovely sunrise/sunset in the game to be enjoyed by everyone who plays it.

A few more things that I love about the game are the enemies and their detail. The developers made them so realistic and beautiful that their animation in the game is impeccable. How they are able to do more in this game than previous ones is incredible. I love when in The Zora boss you had to use the splash fruit in order to defeat it which made it all the more challenging and fun at the same time. Lastly, I love how, in the Gerudo town, you were able to go and solve puzzles in order to get to the boss. The puzzles in this game were a lot more challenging than in previous games. As a puzzle lover myself I very much enjoyed this new addition of puzzles.

Now some things I would change are the wastage of stamina running. Sometimes you have to run from enemies you are not able to fight yet. But if you have not done any shrines, or haven’t gone to the goddess statues in a while you will find this very difficult. Along with that there is the wastage of stamina when you charge up for an attack. It takes a lot of stamina to charge and I feel that it is not needed and should be much lower.

Moving on from that there is the level of difficulty in defeating lynels that just bothers me. I was able to defeat Ganon but, to this day, have not defeated a lynel. The fact that they are so hard to defeat should be changed so that more people can be able to defeat them. Along with the change in the gloom lynels. I believe that Ganon should be harder than any other enemy you would face in the game but sadly that is not so.

Another thing I would change is that it is so hard to have all your ingredients go to waste as a Dubious food. It wastes so much of your resources that I would love a warning when you are about to cook it that they do not go together and that you should pick something else. I have used up so many resources on this that I could’ve filled up all my hearts 10 times over with all the wasted ingredients. I don’t mean to tell me what is going to happen, just tell me as a little warning that this is not a good combo and that I should change it.

Going along with the recipes and the lack of them I would like there to be quests where you can find food recipes. Where you could talk to different farmers from different villages and stables to have the location marked on the map for where to find the recipes. These recipes should consist of products that would help someone trying to succeed in the game. Some are a health booster/full recovery, speed boost, and climbing boost. These would be so essential to the game play and would help the player have more fun rather than be worried about almost losing stamina from climbing and them falling to their death. It would just really help in the all together game play of Tears of the Kingdom.
