Washington Redskins faced with an unlucky year

By Brookelynn Ritter

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that the Redskins are facing an outrageously long streak of misfortune?  Maybe the quality of their team truly is terrible, but even as a Ravens fan, I can honestly say I feel a little bad for Washington and its fans.

I think we all knew things were headed downhill when one pathetic loss came in mercilessly after the next, but the loss to the Detroit Lions had to be an all time low for the players, the coaches, and the fans.

The team has become an embarrassment, falling to last place in the NFC East.

Not only are their star players competing poorly (Jason Campbell getting sacked six times in their last game against Philadelphia), they are also racking up their injuries.  Though the majority of them are minor, twenty-seven-year-old tight end Chris Cooley suffered a severe ankle injury that he brought upon himself.

If that’s not bad luck, I’m not exactly sure what is.

As mere onlookers to this calamity, all we can do is hope that the Redskins take this bye week to get their heads on straight and come back ready to face the Falcons in a new light.
