The Round Table

Glee season two not hitting high notes for viewers

Singing, dancing and a dramatic plot, Glee had it all. The hit TV show had an extremely successful first season, but the pressure to stay on top, has brought Glee to its downfall.

The second season was anticipated all summer, and then in September when the show finally premiered it was less than impressive.

Granted, Glee has had a few good songs and one or two good episodes, but the show has been tremendously disappointing for Gleeks.

The writers of the show seem to be all over the place. The plot is constantly changing, so many things happen in just one episode and it is unrealistic.

Songs such as “I Dreamed a Dream,” and “Don’t Stop Believing’,” were just a few songs that were top sellers on iTunes for season one. The songs in season two are old, not well known to teens or even some adults.

Not only are most of the songs old and not that famous but they aren’t even re-made well. Characters such as Quinn, played by Dianna Agron, who has a so-so voice, are getting the songs that require strong voices.

The writers finally picked a good song such as “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life,” and they gave it to one of the weakest singers, Argon. They tore the song up, a catastrophe to say the least.

The writers of Glee need to find a happy medium, like they had in the first season. When the plot is strong, the song choice is weak, and vice versa.

Glee needs to return to the way it used to be in the first season. Though the season is more than half way over, Gleeks are still hoping for the return of the magic they used to feel when watching the show.
